According to the HSA report entitled, Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment (PDF), potential domestic terrorists include those who are "antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority,1 or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration." Moreover, the report says that "The possible passage of new restrictions on firearms and the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks." And, unwilling to leave any stone unturned in their effort to demonize law abiding American citizens who don't embrace every "jot and title" of Obama's leftist ideology: "Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning." So, if you're like me - proud that the U.S. of A elected its first minority president but opposed to his politics - then you are a racist.
The truth is that the people who employ "domestic terrorism" do not do so because they are "rightwing." They do so because they are criminally inclined, unhinged, violent, immoral people. They are the sort who would find an excuse to do harm no matter what the political climate might be.
You see, it isn't the violence that Obama and company object to; it is violence against their ideology. Exhibit A, the unhinged, violent, immoral Bill Ayers, an admitted terrorist and friend of Obama:
"I am a radical, Leftist, small 'c' communist ... Maybe I'm the last communist who is willing to admit it. We have always been small 'c' communists in the sense that we were never in the Communist party and never Stalinists. The ethics of communism still appeal to me. I don't like Lenin as much as the early Marx. I also like Henry David Thoreau, Mother Jones and Jane Addams"
In 1970 Ayers was called "a national leader" of the Weatherman organization and "one of the chief theoreticians of the Weathermen" by The New York Times. The Weathermen called for revolutionary war against the United States government and the capitalist system. Their founding document called for the establishment of a "white fighting force" to be allied with the "Black Liberation Movement" and other "anti-colonial" movements to achieve "the destruction of US imperialism and the achievement of a classless world: world communism." In June 1974, the Weather Underground released a 151-page volume titled Prairie Fire, which stated: "We are a guerrilla organization ...We are communist women and men underground in the United States. The Weatherman leadership, including Ayers, pushed for a radical reformulation of sexual relations under the slogan "Smash Monogamy."2
The truth is that Obama is afraid of those who differ from him politically. He is comfortable in the company of other leftists but ill at ease even thinking about the worldview of liberty and personal responsibility. Thus he naturally warms to leftist thugs such as Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortega, the Castros of Cuba and yes, King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia.3 It is natural for him to jettison 400 years of American history and make the claim before a Turkish audience that in the United States " we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation. " Obama can say this because his participation in the Christian religion was limited to membership in a radically anti-American "church." Obama's twenty year membership in the "God Damn America" church of Trinity UCC and his friendship with the inflammatory pastor Jeremiah Wright was all about politics and had nothing to do with a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. In keeping with the Alinsky strategy, leftist radicals use existing religious organizations to further the cause of socialism: "Alinsky saw the already formed church communities as being the perfect springboards for agitation and creating bonds for demanding goods and services."
Therefore we should not consider Obama's schmoozing with two-bit South American thugs a show of weakness.4 Instead we must recognize it as a show of solidarity. Obama would like to openly declare his commitment to communism but he knows that he would not be able to achieve his leftist aims if he did so.
Frankly, one does not need to read between the lines to see where things are going. Under the guise of law enforcement and national security Obama and company are working to convince the American populace that any - any - opposition to the political and social agenda of the left is dangerous and must be stamped out. The convincing will come easy. The propaganda machine known as the public education system has been very successful in creating a foolish and malleable citizenry. The majority of Americans cannot think for themselves and look to the "authorities" to tell them what is right and what is wrong. According to Obama, anyone who disagrees with him is not just wrong, but horribly wrong. To differ with Obama and company on politics makes one a radical, racist, extremist, terrorist anti-American. Already we are told that to protest against the expansion of federal power is to be part of an "unhinged mob." All of this is a variation on Saul Alinsky's twelfth rule: "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions."5 Note that the HSA report on rightwing extremism does not name any particular organization. Instead it warns against certain types of individuals. When the time comes there will be a few individuals apprehended and paraded before a gullible public as an example of what is in store for the country unless Obama and company are allowed greater police power.
What are we to do in the face of this leftist conspiracy?6 To begin with we must exercise our right of free speech and we must encourage and support those who do so. For instance, every liberty loving American should email, call or send a letter to governor Perry of Texas and thank him for his stand against the oppressive power of the federal government. We should also give our support to other national personalities who consistently stand in opposition to the federal leviathan.
Secondly we must bury our Senators and Representatives beneath emails, letters and phone calls every time there is another push to the left by Obama and company. I realize that this will require almost daily contact with your elected representatives in Washington D.C. (I send out emails at least two or three times a week), but without pressure from their constituents many representatives will fail to stand against the leftist tide.
We must also frequently insist that our state senators, representatives and governor openly and vocally stand against federal encroachment on the sovereignty of the individual states. The very best defense against tyrannical federal power is strong local and state government.
Third, we should become involved in local politics and work to move the party of our choice (republican, constitutional, libertarian), toward greater support of individual liberty.
Fourth, we ought to be constantly writing and speaking on the subject: letters to the editor, blogs, web sites, community organization meetings (Elks, Rotary etc), and so on.
Fifth, pray for wisdom. Also, pray that the Holy spirit will guide our civil leadership to pursue godliness no matter their spiritual condition.
Finally, we cannot lose hope. No matter what happens we can rest assured that the sovereign Creator of the universe remains in control. Our job is to obey and imitate Christ in all things and leave the results to him.
